Oreum Kids CalMagD K2 is a children's health functional food with calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and vitamin K in one sachet. It is not a powder or a tablet but a gel you can eat straight from the opened sachet, with no mixing into water and nothing to prepare. One sachet contains 210 mg calcium, 105 mg magnesium, 1,000 IU vitamin D, 50 µg vitamin K and 50 mg poly-gamma-glutamic acid, with calcium and magnesium in a 2:1 ratio. Under the health functional food ingredient standards, calcium is needed for the formation of bones and teeth, and vitamin D is needed for the absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin K is needed for normal blood clotting and for the make-up of bone. Magnesium is a mineral needed for energy use and for maintaining nerve and muscle function. Two capsules a day provide 475 mg DHA and 125 mg EPA, and the product is built with a higher share of DHA than EPA. EPA and DHA are types of omega-3 fatty acids. Oils containing EPA and DHA, the health functional food ingredient, are recognised by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as possibly helping to improve blood triglyceride levels and blood circulation. Wooakle does not believe a child's nutrition can be filled by supplements alone. Supplements can fill some gaps, but the basics have to come from the real food a child eats every day. It is built around cuts children eat well, such as French rack, loin and shoulder skewers, and is trimmed so it can be cooked at home without fuss.
